This first Grand Slam of the season delivered a true fireworks show! Between unexpected eliminations, incredible comebacks and standout performances, the 2026 Australian Open lived up to all expectations.

Guinée Games invites you to relive three weeks of intense tennis, packed with memorable moments and dramatic twists.

A look back at a thrilling Grand Slam tournament

A spectacular men’s draw

On the men’s side, the quarterfinals featured a highly anticipated clash between American Ben Shelton (world No. 8) and Italian Jannik Sinner (world No. 2). Solid and inspired, Sinner came out on top to secure a place in the semifinals against none other than Novak Djokovic (world No. 4).

The Top 4 players in the world all made it to the final four, treating fans to a series of quality matches.

The semifinals did not disappoint. The showdown between Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev lived up to the hype in a completely crazy match. In the end, the German gave way to the Spaniard’s relentless intensity.

The same fate awaited Jannik Sinner against Novak Djokovic. Despite strong resistance, the Fox couldn’t break the resolve of the most decorated player in tennis history, boasting 24 Grand Slam titles.

A women’s draw full of surprises

On the women’s side, Elina Svitolina caused a major upset by eliminating world No. 3 Coco Gauff in the quarterfinals. Her impressive run came to an end in the semifinals against world No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, who was dominant on the Australian hard courts.

Another standout clash saw Iga Świątek stopped by Elena Rybakina after a very tight first set. Powerful and determined, Rybakina then delivered a thrilling semifinal against Jessica Pegula, keeping all of Melbourne on the edge of their seats until the final point.

And the winners are…

To everyone’s surprise, the men’s final featured Carlos Alcaraz against Novak Djokovic. After dropping the first set, the Spaniard mounted a spectacular comeback to claim his very first Australian Open title, marking a major milestone in his career.

In the women’s final, Aryna Sabalenka faced Elena Rybakina on Melbourne’s center court. After an intense battle and a hard-fought contest, the world No. 1 eventually fell 6-4 in the deciding set, handing victory to a remarkably composed Rybakina.
