Before the so-called ‘big names’ enter the competition, some of Europe’s smaller sides are battling it out for a place in the luxurious Champions League group stage. These qualifying fixtures can offer plenty of betting opportunities, with several teams looking to take a crucial step towards reaching the next stage.

Mjallby AIF to win @ 1.93
My first selection comes in the Mjallby clash against Slovan Bratislava, where I am backing the hosts to come out on top. Aki Samuelsen has been in excellent form for the Swedish side recently, scoring twice in his last two Champions League qualification matches in 2026. With the forward firing, I believe he can once again make a real difference and help Mjallby secure another important victory.
With this being a two-legged tie, Mjallby will be keen to make the most of home advantage and get off to a winning start. A victory here would put them in a strong position heading into the second leg and avoid the need to chase the game in Slovakia. With their key man in form and home advantage on their side, I see plenty of value in backing Mjallby for the straight win.
PFC Levski Sofia to win @ 1.85
My second selection comes from the Levski Sofia versus Kairat Almaty fixture, and I believe there is plenty of value on offer here. Levski Sofia head into the match in superb form, having avoided defeat in their last nine games while remaining unbeaten in 20 of their previous 22 matches. This consistency makes them a side I am keen to back on home soil.
Kairat have also shown some encouraging form of their own, so this should not be an entirely straightforward contest for the hosts. However, I believe Levski Sofia’s impressive run and overall consistency will prove too much for their opponents. Backing Levski Sofia to claim the win represents a smart value play.
Olympique Lyon to win @ 1.87
Sparta Prague will take on Olympique Lyon in their Third Qualifying Round meeting, and I can only see one winner in this contest. Sparta Prague have suffered defeat in each of their last three matches, including a heavy 3-1 loss to Brno in their opening league game of the season. Their recent struggles make it difficult to overlook Lyon at these odds.
The head-to-head record also strongly favours the French side. Sparta Prague have failed to beat Lyon in their last six meetings, with one match ending in a draw and Lyon winning the other five. When you combine that record with the recent form and the difference in quality between the two teams, backing Lyon to win looks like excellent value.
Union Saint-Gilloise to win @ 2.25
My final Champions League selection comes from the Union Saint-Gilloise clash against Bodoe/Glimt, where I am once again dipping into the 1X2 market. Union Saint-Gilloise have been particularly impressive at home, winning each of their last five matches on their own turf. That strong home record makes them an attractive option.
Bodoe/Glimt also arrive in this fixture in solid form, so the visitors should not be underestimated. However, I believe Union Saint-Gilloise’s excellent record at home could be the deciding factor here. With confidence high on their own turf, backing the Belgian side to secure another home victory looks like an excellent value bet.
