The upcoming AFCON will take place between December 21 2025 and January 18 2026, providing you nearly a whole month’s worth of excitement!
The tournament features 24 teams, divided into six groups of four. During the group stage, each team plays three matches, one against every other team in their group. The top two teams from each group automatically qualify for the Round of 16. They’re joined by the four best third-placed teams, making up the final 16.
From there, it’s knockout football. Single elimination matches through the Round of 16, Quarter-finals, Semi-finals, and ultimately the Final, where one nation lifts the AFCON trophy.
