My first weekend football betting pick comes in the Premier League as Arsenal welcome Leeds United, and I’m expecting a comfortable home victory. The reigning champions have looked strong at the Emirates, winning both of their games so far, while Leeds have also made a positive start to the campaign. However, I expect them to take control early, making an Arsenal halftime / fulltime bet appealing.
Bayern Munich to win both halves @ 2.03
Next up, I’m backing another set of reigning champions as Bayern Munich take on FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga. Bayern were in ruthless form in their recent outing, securing an emphatic 7-0 victory, while star men Harry Kane and Michael Olise were in immense form for their countries, with Kane registering seven goal contributions in four games and Olise six in four. With Bayern showing plenty of attacking firepower, backing them to win both halves looks like excellent value.
Real Madrid Halftime / Fulltime @ 1.73
La Liga is where I turn my attention next, with Real Madrid hosting Villarreal in a fixture that presents plenty of betting opportunities. Madrid remain unbeaten at home across their three games so far, while Villarreal have made a slower start, winning just twice from their opening seven matches. With home advantage and the contrasting form of the two sides in mind, backing Real Madrid to lead at halftime and win at fulltime offers plenty of appeal.
Liverpool v Man City: Over (3.5) Goals @ 2.31
My final pick comes in what I expect to be one of the standout fixtures of the weekend, as Manchester City travel to Anfield to face Liverpool. This Premier League clash has all the ingredients for an entertaining, high scoring encounter, with league leading scorers Erling Haaland and Alexander Isak both taking to the pitch. City’s recent fixture finished 5-3, while Liverpool have already been involved in two games featuring at least four goals, so I see plenty of value in backing over 3.5 goals in this one.
